Setting the Expiration Time for Traces and System Logs

The Days Until Traces are Deleted setting is now available in the ReportCaster Console. This setting removes the need to manually delete files and folders in your trc, log, and temp directories. The Distribution Server automatically deletes content older than your specified number of days. The default number of days is 10.

Procedure: How to Access and Use the Days Until Traces Are Deleted Option

  1. From the Home Page, click the Banner to open the User menu, point to Administration, and then click Administration Console.

    The Administration Console Displays.

  2. Click the ReportCaster tab to display the ReportCaster Console.
  3. On the ribbon, in the Show group, click the Configuration button to display the configuration options for the console.
  4. In the side pane, navigate to the Distribution Servers folder and click the accordion button to display the Additional Settings folder.
  5. Click the Additional Settings folder to display the Additional Settings page.
  6. Navigate to the Days Until Traces are Deleted setting, shown in the following image.

  7. Use the arrows to increase or decrease the number of days.
  8. After updating the setting, navigate back to the ribbon. In the Manage Configuration group, click Save to save your new settings, and Restart to restart ReportCaster from the ReportCaster Console.
